What are refundable tickets?
We know plans change and flexibility is important. SeatGeek’s refundable tickets service can be purchased to provide you the opportunity to maintain your peace of mind and convenience. Refundable tickets allow you to cancel your order for any reason - up to 48 hours before the start of the event - in exchange for a full cash-refund*.
Refundable tickets are currently available for select MLB events on SeatGeek.com and in the Android mobile app.

Note:
*The refundable tickets service-charge is not refundable unless your ticket is refundable under SeatGeek's Buyer Guarantee (like for cancelled events). The full cash-refund applies to your entire order only, and cannot be claimed for a partial quantity of tickets.
Making your tickets refundable
All eligible events will display the option to make your tickets refundable on the final review step of checkout. At that step, as shown in the image below, you will be prompted to purchase the offer. The refundable tickets service-charge will be shown in the order’s pricing summary before payment.
While you can apply discounts or promotions to eligible orders, they cannot be applied to the refundable tickets service-charge and the service-charge will require the use of traditional payment methods (such as credit card or digital wallet - e..g. Apple Pay).
After opting-in and completing your order, refundable ticket details will be available in your itemized email receipt, on the Tickets page, as well as your SeatGeek account’s order history.
How refundable tickets work
If you purchased the refundable tickets service and need to cancel your order for any reason (up to 48 hours before the event start time), simply follow these steps:
- Log into your SeatGeek account and navigate to your Tickets
- Select "Refund tickets"
-
You will see the following screen to confirm your choice and return your order. After confirming, your refund will be triggered and your tickets will be automatically returned to SeatGeek. Note: This is not reversible
- That's it! Your order will be returned to SeatGeek and your refund will be processed to your original payment method*. Order information for canceled orders will still be available in the Purchases tab of your account, including the refund status
Note:
*The service-charge is not refundable unless your ticket is refundable under SeatGeek's Buyer Guarantee (like for cancelled events). The full cash-refund applies to your entire order only, and cannot be claimed for a partial quantity of tickets.
More FAQs:
Can I resell my refundable tickets?
If your order is eligible for resale, you can absolutely list your order for sale. Once your listing sells, the refundable ticket feature will be voided, and will not be passed on to the buyer.
If you’re within 48 hours of the event starting (and your refund-window has closed), you’ll see an option on your Tickets page to sell your ticket instead. Check here for more info on how to list your tickets.
Will the refundable tickets service charge be refunded if the event is canceled?
Yes! The refundable tickets service-charge will be refunded along with the rest of your order, as per SeatGeek's Buyer Guarantee, if the event is officially canceled.
What happens to my refundable tickets if the event is postponed?
Your order will still be eligible for return up to 48 hours before the new event time (once announced). The service-charge will not be refundable for events which are postponed.
Can I opt-in or opt-out of the refundable tickets service after checkout?
No. The ability to make your tickets refundable is only available at checkout. Your decision to opt-in or opt-out is final. The service-charge for your refundable tickets will not be reimbursed once the order is complete, unless your tickets are refundable under SeatGeek’s Buyer Guarantee.
Can I return part of my refundable tickets order?
No. To return your order, you must return the full order. If you no longer need one or more of your tickets (if one of your party members will not be able to attend the event, for example) we recommend listing those tickets for sale! Check here for more info on how to list your tickets.
